Projects

We specialize in a variety of civil construction projects and subdivision works. Our knowledge and expertise in the field of development and construction cover the full scope which enables us to handle bulk earthworks, stormwater, sewer and water reticulation, utilities installation, roading, concrete work, retaining walls and landscaping.

106 MAIRE ROAD, OREWA

Millwater Subdivisons

Work Required:

• Earthworks
• Sediment & Erosion Control ( Sediment Ponds )
• Concrete Works ( Kerb & Channel, Footpath)
• Carriage way Construction

• Low Pressure Sewer System
• Stormwater System
• Water Reticulation

• Landscaping
• Street Lighting
• Retaining wall

East coast road intersection upgrade

The scope of the works included the following:

• Construction of 300m of new pavement including stabilised sub-grade.
• Approx. 600m of new stormwater network including the integration and upgrade of
  existing network.
• New stormwater pond construction, landscaping and tidal river outlet.

• Widening and strengthening of over 500m of existing pavement on HBC Highway.
• Bulk earthworks
• Installation of new street lighting, retaining wall & TL-3 guardrailю
• New footpath and cycle ways.

This project had many challenges that were successfully overcome such as very strict environmental controls, difficult geotechnical conditions and traffic management for over 35,000 vehicles per day which required close interface and liaison with NZTA, Auckland Council and the Engineer’s Representative to ensure that the project specifications were met.

Due to high traffic volumes a number of operations were required to be carried out at night which required detailed programming, sequencing and compliance with strict consent conditions.

omega pond enhancement

This contract was for the construction of a cycleway through Omega Pond and remediation of and enhancement of Omega Pond which included:

• The supply and construction of a 3m wide shared use pathway and timber
   boardwalk
• Construction of abutment walls, drainage and terramesh retaining walls
• Landscaping and planting of the wetland, bund and pond perimeter with wetland
   plant species.

• Upgrade of existing low level and high level service outlets.
• The construction of a maintenance access way to the pond for heavy vehicles
• Supply and installation of all cycleway rails and pond and cycleway signage.

All works were carried out with sediment and control measures in accordance with Auckland Regional Council Technical Publication 90 Erosion and sediment control guidelines for land disturbing.

Strategic Cycle Path - Rosedale Rd to Rooks Place

Works for the 1.5km Albany Off Road Cyclepath included:

• A New Zealand first, 1000m2 (3m wide, 125mm thick) of permeable/no-fines
   concrete cyclepath.
• 3 timber boardwalks built to full vehicle loading specification.

• Earthworks and large area clearance.
• 160m2 of mechanically stabilised terramesh walls.
• 150m2 of sheet pile retaining walls.

The two essential focuses and achievements of this project were:

• Research into the mix design and developing the construction methodology of the permeable concrete footpath – this was achieved through multiple lay-down trials as well as
building and developing tools and equipment to aid in the construction of the permeable concrete path.  A smooth, permeable concrete cycleway, well in excess of the
permeability requirement (a flow rate of 100L of water per square metre of footpath per minute) was constructed.

• Environmental management associated with construction in an environmentally sensitive area next to a stream and wetland – this was achieved through multiple perfect scores
and no non-compliance scores in the weekly environmental audits carried out by Auckland Regional Council.

These achievements demonstrated a keen interest and willingness to deliver the project to a high standard while at the same time developing a strong working relationship with the Client.
